Biography

Born in Livorno, she graduated in singing at the Boccherini Conservatory in Lucca with full marks. She also studied viola and piano since a very small age, together with Arte Drammatica with many leading international teachers.

She made her debut at Teatro Goldoni in Livorno as Giulietta in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann, a role she revived also at Teatro Verdi in Pisa.

She quickly sang the roles of Mimì in Puccini’s La Bohème, the title role in Verdi’s Aida, Alice Ford in Falstaff, Adalgisa in Norma, Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana and the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica in houses such as: Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova and Festival Verdi in Parma.

In 2015 she performed the role of Giorgetta in Puccini’s Il tabarro at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago. In 2018 she made her debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan as Garsenda in Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini conducted by M° Fabio Luisi in the production by David Pountney and made her debut in the title role in Puccini’s Tosca in Skopje.

In the last seasons she appeared as: Amelia in Un ballo in maschera at Teatro Regio in Parma; the title role in Adriana Lecouvreur and Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova; Alice Ford in Falstaff directed by Luca Ronconi and Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova; Mariella in Mascagni’s Il piccolo Marat (for the opera’s centenary) at Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, broadcast on RAI5; Minnie in Puccini’s La fanciulla del west in Cluj-Napoca (broadcast by rumenian national Tv); Lady Macbeth in Verdi’s Macbeth and Abigaille in Nabucco in Sankt Margarethen for Oper im Steinbruch Festival; the title role in Cilea’s Gloria directed by Antonio Albanese at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari; the title role in Turandot at Opera Nationala in Cluj Napoca, where she also sung Elisabetta di Valois in Verdi’s Don Carlo; she also worked with Arena di Verona for the productions of Aida and Nabucco conducted by M° Daniel Oren.

Among her recent and future engagements: Tosca at Teatro Marruccino in Chieti and at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi under M° Daniele Callegari; Aida at Teatro Sondre in Montevideo; Cavalleria rusticana at Teatro Goldoni in Livorno; Boito’s Nerone at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari for the opening of the 2024 season (soon to be released on dvd and Blu-ray); her debut in France and in the role of Tigrana in Puccini’s Edgar (4 acts version and first performance in France) at the Opéra de Nice conducted by M° Giuliano Carella in the new production directed by Nicola Raab; in Zandonai’s Francesca da Rimini for the opening of the season at Teatro Regio in Turin.
